A story of friendship and love in the Holy mass
Eucharistic mass
Baptism of my son
Our family, the domestic church, bears witness to Christ’s sacrifice in the Holy Eucharist. As parents and guardians of faith, we are called to be bold in teaching our children that the Eucharist is not just a symbol—it is truly the Body of Christ. That simple, circular white host we receive at Mass is Jesus Himself, present with us in the most profound way. Our children may not yet grasp the fullness of this mystery, but in God’s perfect time, He will reveal Himself to them.
It is like introducing them to your dearest and most faithful friend—One who never misses a moment. Christ is there at their birthdays and Christmas celebration every year, when joy fills the home. He is also there in times of illness, when a parent feels weak, or when burdens press heavily on the family. Over time, children come to recognise that this Friend not only loves you but also cares deeply for them, sharing in their lives with a constant and unfailing presence.
Let us then show our children that Jesus is our truest Friend and confidant—the One we run to in every struggle, disappointment, or sorrow. Speak His name when they feel sad or lonely. Share with them why we treasure Psalm 23 and Psalm 31, and read the Gospels together, reflecting on the words of life and hope. Through Scripture and prayer, let them see how Christ walks with us each day.
Most of all, let us model a living faith before our children: a faith filled with reverence, conviction, and joy. In doing so, we invite them to grow in daily friendship with Christ, to lean on Him as their Shepherd, and to discover for themselves the love that never fails.
